Questions to ask your fertility clinic
What to ask before you sign — save the ones you want to bring.
Held is peer support and education — always check anything medical with your own care team.
These are the things worth asking before you choose a clinic or sign anything. Bring the ones that matter to you:
- For my age, what’s your average number of mature eggs frozen per cycle?
- What exactly is included in the quoted price — and what’s billed separately?
- How much should I budget for medications?
- How many monitoring visits should I expect, and at what times of day?
- What is your lab’s egg thaw survival rate?
- How do you decide my medication protocol and dose?
- What are the signs of OHSS, and who do I call after hours?
- Where and how are my eggs stored, and what’s the yearly storage fee?
- What happens to my eggs if I move, or if I decide not to use them?
- Can I speak to a nurse the day of my trigger shot to confirm the timing?
- What stimulation protocol do you recommend for me, and why that one?
- Given my goals, how many eggs would you suggest I aim to freeze?
- What are your fees later for thawing, fertilizing (ICSI), and transfer?
